How do I add a limit?
  1. Open once.
  2. Allow Screen Time access.
  3. Pull Today down to add a limit.
  4. Choose your apps or a website.
  5. Set the daily opens and minutes for each visit.
  6. Save the limit.

With VoiceOver, use Add an app or website.

How do opens work?

Tap Open on the blocked app’s Screen Time screen. This uses one open to start a session.

Returning during that session uses no extra open. Daily opens reset at midnight.

Can I change a limit?

Tap its card on Today. You can set different limits for each day.

The button beside the gear sets the maximum extra opens. Extra opens last until midnight.

How do I block apps for a set time?

Add times to a limit’s blocking schedule. Blocks can last from 15 minutes to 24 hours.

For a single block, use Activate unblockable mode on Today. Choose the limits and time. You cannot end this mode early in once.

How do I open a blocked website?

Tap Open website on the limit’s Today card. This starts a session.

A typed address opens in Safari. For a website from Apple’s picker, visit it in Safari after you start the session.

Safari shows Apple’s Restricted screen for blocked websites. Other browsers may not apply these blocks.

Why is a limit not working?

Check the opens left, blocking schedule, and unblockable mode on Today.

If nothing is blocked, check once’s Screen Time access in iPhone Settings.

If a session ends late, reopen once. Apple controls when Screen Time updates the block.

Does once back up my limits?

Yes. iCloud backup is on by default. It saves your limits and settings to your private iCloud.

On a new install with no limits, once can restore this copy after you allow Screen Time access. Use the same iCloud account. Running sessions do not restore.

To turn backup off and remove the iCloud copy, tap the gear on Today. Turn off iCloud backup.
